I thought you had to pay the tax to the state where you earn your income?

I know of some people that are not subject to local taxes even though their place of employment is in Lexington, KY but they do the majority of their work in other cities.

Frankly, if you live in one state and work in another, both having state income taxes, I'm surprised that both states wouldn't hit you up for income taxes.

Since you are only allowed to vote in one state, that would be taxation without representation.

Just because he plays in New York doesn't mean that has to be his primary residence. So he wouldn't neccasarily have to pay the state income tax in NY.
That would depend on the laws of NY, which I'm not up on..

In Va.
If you live in Va & work out of state you pay Va. State Income taxes.
If you live outside Va. but work inside Va.  You pay Va. State Income tax.

Va gets you both ways.

While that may be true, it doesn't apply to gas tax, sales tax, etc, etc, etc.

As we're seeing now, the government doesn't give a crap about the constitutionality of anything - they just want their crack.

That sounds unconstitutional to me, but hey I guess you know since you live there.

Also keep in mind these players might run themselves as corporations, so the team might make the check out to a corporation instead of the player. This would help the player avoid even more taxes. I don't know if this is the way it works though.

I don't think that would be legal. They are employees.
